Ft. Sam Houston, Texas – Army Private William J. Semanko, 23, whose parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Lawrence R. Semankos, and wife, Kathleen, live on Route 1, Gilman,
Wisconsin, recently completed a 10-week Medical Corpsman course at the U.S. Army
Medical Training Center, Ft. Sam Houston, Texas.
He learned to perform routine patient care and treatment duties in combat areas,
hospital units, dispensaries, clinics and other medical facilities. He also
received instruction in the transportation of sick and wounded by ground, air,
and water means.
Pvt. Semanko entered the Army in June and received basic training at Ft. Knox,
Kentucky.
The private is a 1967 graduate of Gilman High School.
