Wal, Michael (15 OCT 1886 – 16 NOV 1972)
Michael Wal died Thursday, November 16, 1972 at the Marshfield Convalescent Home
at the age of 86.
He was born October 15, 1886 in Poland, coming to America at an early age. He
was married to the late Mary Anna Giza on July 16, 1916 in Chicago, Illinois.
She preceded him in death last year. He worked as a coal miner in Pennsylvania
before moving to Chicago, working many years for the International Harvester
Company.
He moved to the Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.) area in the 1920’s setting on a farm in
the town of Taft, where he farmed until 1957.
For the past two and one-half years he resided in the village of Lublin (Taylor
Co., Wis.).
He is survived by one son, Frank Wall (?) of Lublin, one daughter, Stella Jerzyk
of Downers Grove, Illinois, also six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, November 18 at 2 p.m. at the Thorp
Funeral Home Chapel, with Harold Miller of the Withee Congregation of Jehovah’s
Witnesses, officiating.
Pallbearers were Ralph Kramer, Ervin Robertson, Joe Schindler, Alfred Molle, all
of Withee, William Commers of Owen and Donavan Ward of Curtiss.
