Gerrits, Sandy (4 NOV 1972)
Miss Sandy Gerrits, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Justin Jakowicz Jr. of Boyd, became
the bride of Randy LaGrander, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dan LaGrander of Stanley on
Saturday, November 4, 1972 at St. Joseph’s Church, Boyd. Father Comiskey
performed the 12:00 noon marriage ceremony.
The bride, given in marriage by her grandfather, Pete Gerrits, wore a white
crepe floor length gown styled with an overskirt of white sheer polyester, high
mid-waist appliqued with roses, styled and made by her mother. Her veil had
matching lace on it, and she carried a bouquet of red roses, baby’s breath and
stephanotis.
Roxanne Mahr, friend of the bride, was maid of honor, and bridesmaids were Terry
Gerrits and Carmen Gerrits, sister of the bride; junior bridesmaids were Angela
Gerrits and Cindy LaGrander, sister of the bride and groom; and flower girl was
Lori Ramer, cousin of the bride.
The two bridesmaids wore royal blue crepe gowns trimmed in white; junior
bridesmaids wore light blue trimmed in white, and the flower girl, white trimmed
in blue and white. All the gowns were made by the bride’s mother. They carried
bouquets of mix fall flowers of blue, white and yellow.
Attending the groom was Randy Gerrits, brother of the bride, as best man.
Groomsmen were Tim Caswell and Dave Schneider, friends. Ring bearer was Tommy
Jakowicz, brother of the bride. Ushers were Steven Ramseler and Jack LaGrander,
cousins of the bride and groom.
A reception for 275 guests was held at Rainbow Gardens, Cadott.
After a wedding trip to Florida, the new couple will reside at route 3, Stanley,
at Hillside Dairy.
