The City of Thorp has ordered a new ambulance from the Superior Coach Sales of
Hales Corners, Wisconsin, and expect delivery in 90 days.
It is a Pontiac chassis and this company’s quotation was $14,000. There will be
an outright grant of $5,000 of this amount to the city from the Federal
government.
The Thorp Courier has been informed that the successful quotation was not the
lowest, however, there were three other quotations – two from Wifler Motors and
one from Thorp Implement, both of this city (Thorp, Clark Co., Wis.).
On ordering the new ambulance, the city council took the recommendations of the
Thorp Volunteer Fire Department, which organization requested the purchase of a
Pontiac.
