Handt, John (25 September 1917 – 4 April 1976)

A lifelong resident of the Town of Grant, John Handt, 58, of Rt. 2 Granton, died at 6:50 p.m. Sunday, April 4, at Hennepin County Medical Center, Minneapolis. Funeral services are to be held this (Thursday) afternoon at 1:30 p.m. from Zion Lutheran Church, Granton, with the Rev. Everett Schleef officiating. Burial will be in the Windfall Cemetery.

The body of Mr. Handt was to be in state at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Granton, from 2-9 p.m. Wednesday, and until noon today (Thursday) when it will be taken to the church to lie in state there until time of services.

Mr. Handt was born September 25, 1917, in the Town of Grant and received his education in schools there. He farmed in the Town of Grant during his entire lifetime, and was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Granton.

He is survived by one brother, Everett Handt of Granton.
