Sternitzky, Elizabeth (8 April 1881 – 2 April 1976)

Funeral services are to be held this (Thursday) afternoon at 2 p.m. from Zion Lutheran Church, Granton, for Mrs. Elizabeth Sternitzky, 95, of Rt. 1 Granton, who died at 7:45 a.m. Monday, April 2, in Neillsville. The Rev. Everett Schleef will officiate, and burial will be in the church cemetery.

The body of Mrs. Sternitzky was to be in state at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Granton, from 2-9 p.m. Wednesday and until noon today (Thursday) when it will be taken to the church to lie in state there until time of services.

The former Elizabeth Hillert was born April 8, 1881, in the Town of Grant and received her education in schools there. Her marriage to Edward Sternitzky took place June 11, 1903, in Granton. Since her marriage, Mrs. Sternitzky had lived on a farm in the Town of Lynn. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Granton. Mr. Sternitzky preceded his wife in death on April 30, 1968.

Survivors include four sons, Arnold of Fond du Lac and Herbert, Edwin, and Erwin, all of Granton, nine grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one brother, Richard Hillert of Granton.
