Martusis, Melva (11 August 1910-27 December 1989)
COLD SPRINGS, MINNESOTA-- Services were held Friday at Wenner Funeral Home, Cold
Spring, Minnesota, for Melva Martusis, 79, of Rockville, Minnesota, sister of
George Fricke of Spencer. Mrs. Martusis died Wednesday at her home.
The Rev. Robert Ralfes officiated. Burial was in St. Boniface Cemetery, Cold
Spring, Minnesota, with nieces and nephews serving as pallbearers.
It is requested that memorials be given to the American Cancer Society.
The former Melva Fricke was born August 11, 1910, in Loyal, a daughter of the
late August and Mary Fricke.
She was a lieutenant in the U.S. Army Nurse Corps from 1942-46.
She was married to William V. Martusis, September 9, 1951, in Las Vegas, Nevada.
He died December 26, 1966.
Mrs. Martusis was employed as a nurse at the Veterans Administration Medical
Center of Los Angeles County, California, until her retirement in 1974.
Surviving, besides her brother, George, is one sister, Mrs. William (Arwilda)
Loch of Watkins.
Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by one brother, Oscar.
