Blumenthaler, Frank (5 December 1885 – 21 April 1976)
Funeral services were held Saturday from St. Mary’s Catholic Church for Frank
Blumenthaler of Memorial Home, who died Wednesday, April 21, at the age of 90.
The Rev. Joseph Henseler officiated, and interment followed in the parish
cemetery. Both general and Knights of Columbus rosary services were Held Friday
evening at the Georgas-Gesche Funeral Home, where the body of Mr. Blumenthaler
was in state.
Born December 5, 1885, in Germany and educated in schools there. Mr.
Blumenthaler was married to the former Rose Hodushek on November 21, 1908, in
Germany. They came to the United States in 1913 and settled in Pennsylvania,
where he worked in the coal mines. The Blumenthalers moved to Michigan in 1918
and he worked for the Libby Canning Company.
After moving to Wisconsin, they lived in Merrillan for a few years. In 1932 they
moved to Cadott where he operated a restaurant before retiring and moving to
Neillsville.
The couple observed their 67th wedding anniversary last November. Mr.
Blumenthaler was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
