Venet, Francis Elmer (27 May 1904-7 January 1981)

WITHEE--Francis Elmer Venet, 76, died Wednesday at St. Joseph's Hospital, where he was admitted Sunday.

The funeral will be Saturday at Maurina Funeral Home, Owen. the Rev. Peter Thomsen of Nazareth Lutheran Church is to officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.

He was born May 27, 1904 in Wakefield, Michigan. On March 21, 1926 in Withee, he and Winnifred Helms were married.

They farmed in the town of Hixon for more than 35 years, retiring in 1960. He also worked as a rural mail carrier for 13 years.

Surviving are his wife: two sons, Raymond and DuWayne, both of Withee; three brothers, Orville of Embarrass, Minnesota, Edward of West Chicago and Arnie of North Chicago; two sisters, Mrs. James (Lee) Barrenbrugge of Wadsworth, Illinois, and Mrs. Douglas (Eleanore) Gould of Hot Springs, Arkansas; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

One sister and two brothers are deceased.
