Hofmann, Ernest W. (25 November 1904-January 1981)
DORCHESTER-- The body of Ernest W. Hoffmann, 76, of Route 1, was found in the
yard of his home around noon Thursday by friends, who stopped to check on him
after not seeing him around for several days.
The body was located in front of a tractor, and according to authorities who
investigated, he may have been working on a front-end loader, getting it ready
in case of snow. A neighbor said he heard the tractor running Sunday.
Death is believed to have occurred during the week-end. A daily newspaper,
delivered Monday, along with other mail since that time, was found in the
mailbox.
Death was the result of natural causes, according to Clark County Coroner,
Robert Lulloff.
Services will be Saturday at Maurina Funeral Home. The Rev. Samuel Robbins of
Peace United Church of Christ will officiate and burial will be in Dorchester
Memorial Cemetery.
Mr. Hofmann was born November 25, 1904 in Dorchester and farmed in the town of
Mayville.
Surviving are a brother, Hugo Hofmann of Dorchester.
