Scholtz, Ralph (15 October 1890 – 6 May 1976) With Flag
A lifelong resident of the Town of Sherwood, Ralph Scholtz, of Rt. 2 Granton,
died Thursday, May 6, in Neillsville at the age of 85. Funeral services were
held Monday from the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Granton, with the Rev. E. T.
Keller of Pittsville officiating. Burial was in the Sherwood Cemetery. The
Pittsville American Legion Post conducted graveside military rites.
Mr. Scholtz was born October 25, 1890, in the Town of Sherwood and was educated
in local schools. His marriage to the former Clara Gall took place August 8,
1917, at Sherwood. Mrs. Scholtz preceded her husband in death on January 8,
1972. Mr. Scholtz, who was a World War I veteran, was a member of St. Paul’s
Lutheran Church, Sherwood.
Survivors include three sons, Clement of Aurora, Il., Duane of Rockford, Il.,
and Gene of Granton; one daughter, Mrs. Leslie (Mildred) Todd of Granton; one
brother, Lewis Scholtz of Neillsville; three sisters, Mrs. William (Isabelle)
Tullis and Mrs. Beulah DeFoe of Waukesha and Mrs. John Voegli of Cambria; and
nine grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Glenn Brinkmeier, Louis Rosandich, Henry Alsterberg, Neil
Coulthard, Robert Friedrichsen and Robert Kunze.
Mrs. Robert Friedrichsen was the organist.
