U.S. Air Force Senior Master Sergeant Howard A. Hoeft, formerly of Chippewa
Falls, recently was appointed a Federal Aviation Agency air traffic control
certification examiner at Vandenberg, AFB, California.
Sergeant Hoeft, son of Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Hoeft, Abbotsford, is responsible
for administering basic certification and rating tests and for proper conduct
and development of the tests. He is authorized to issue temporary certification
to applicants examined for a rating who also meet standards of safety and
proficiency.
The sergeant, who has served 18 years in Air Force air traffic control, is
assigned as chief controller in the Vandenberg tower. He previously served 18
months at the air route traffic control center in Bangkok, Thailand.
