Mr. and Mrs. Norman Smith and daughters, West Allis, spent the past weekend at
the Otto Stibbe home.
Dorchester won the Dairyland ball game over Interwald Sunday and Recreational
Park by a score of 9 to 6. The excitement came in the ninth inning when the
score was tied 6 to 6 with two men on base, and Dan Jantsch hit a home run,
scoring the three extra runs to win. James Jantsch pitched all the way for
Dorchester. The local team will play at Medford next Sunday.
Mrs. Clarence Rankl, Town of Holton, and a member of the Holton Homemakers Club,
and Mrs. Brice Bender, Colby, president of the Marathon County Homemakers
Council, were invited to “open house” at the home of Mrs. Gahart Sanes at
Amherst Monday to meet an extension worker, Mrs. Robert Wootton from Honiton,
Devon, England. Mrs. Sanes is district chairman, and guests included members of
the district homemakers clubs.
Mr. and Mrs. Red Ludwig and Robert spent the weekend with their son-in-law and
daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Pat Kranz, at Elroy.
Robert Pinter, River Falls, spent the weekend with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W.C.
Pinter.
Mr. and Mrs. Edward Gierl and Mrs. Mary Gierl, Tigerton, and Miss Rosemarie
Gierl, Milwaukee, were dinner guests Sunday at the William Jantsch home. The
Gierls also visited friends in Athens.
Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Wunsch, Two Rivers, visited friends in the area on Sunday.
Wunsch was a teacher in Dorchester High School several years ago.
