Owen-- Henry M. Wollum, 95, who operated Owen Canning Corp and founded Master
Package Corporation, died Thursday at Thorp Care Center.
The funeral, along with an Owen Masonic Lodge service will be Monday at Maurina
Funeral Home. The Rev. Margaret Shepherd of First Congregational Church, United
Church of Christ, is to officiate. Riverside Cemetery, Withee, is to be the
burial site.
Mr. Wollum waa born August 4, 1885 in Eau Claire. He came to Owen in 1914 and
was manager of E.J. Faudril Canning Company which later became Owen Canning
Corporation. He operated that corporation until 1956, then started Master
Package Corporation .
He was a charted member of Meadowview Country Club, the last surviving charter
member of Owen Masonic Lodge, and a member of Owen Chamber of Commerce.
Surviving are two sons, William of Eagle River, and Marvin of York,
Pennsylvania; one daughter, Mrs. Judith Savol of Itasca, Illinois; nine
grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
His wife , the former Hazel Brown, died May 5, 1971. one Brother, two sister and
one stepbrother are deceased.
