Pierce, Earl W. (12 July 1890- 18 February 1981)
Neillsville-- Services will be Saturday at Gesche Funeral Home for Earl Pierce,
90, of 28 Clay St. He died Wednesday at his home.
The Rev. D. E. Sprague of Assembly of God Church is to officiate. Burial will be
in Neillsville Cemetery.
Mr. Pierce was born July 12, 1890 in Osseo to Daniel and Anna (Gleason) Pierce.
He moved to the Humbird area with his parents and received his education there.
His marriage to the former Margarete Lubinski took place November 10, 1919 in
Black River Falls. They farmed in the Humbird area until 1942, then moved to
this area and operated the former Hewett Farm. He retired in 1960 and moved to
the city of Neillsville.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Frances Russell of Sparta and
Mrs. Allen (Lorraine) Stanley of Neillsville; two sons, Howard Pierce of Sparta
and Theodore Pierce of Neillsville; four sisters, Mrs. Elgie Hardwick of
Humbird, Mrs. Agnes Frank of Black River Falls, Mrs. Iva Meinholdt and Mrs.
Thomas (Beatrice) Finch, both of Merrillan; 11 grandchildren; and 17
great-grandchildren.
One sister and three brothers are deceased.
Jan and Mark Pierce, Bruce Stanley, Jake Fitzmaurice, and Donald and Charles
Morgan are to serve as pallbearers.
