Qualley, Mrs. Richard (Retiring Teacher - 1976)
It’s not at all difficult to believe Mrs. Richard Qualley when she says she
loves to teach. There’s that special light in her eye when she talks about her
43 years of teaching, and there’s also her reputation for getting to the
classroom under any and all road and weather condit9ions.
Now about to retire, Mrs. Qualley has gone to school on horseback, on foot, on
skis, on a motorcycle, in an airplane and in a Model T, in addition to what
might be termed “more conventional” means of transportation. The horse,
incidentally, showed little interest in higher education, and went home by
itself after delivering the school teacher to her destination.
A native of Clark County and a graduate of Neillsville High School (Missing the
rest of the story which I am sure would be very interesting. Dmk)
