Sherman, Roger N. (25 January 1886 – 16 May 1976)

Roger N. Sherman, 90 of West Salem and formerly of Merrillan died may 16 in a La Crosse hospital.

He was born January 25, 1886, in La Crosse to Mr. and Mrs. William Sherman. He moved with his parents to Merrillan and graduated from Merrillan High School in 1904.

He married Mabel Devlin September 13, 1911, in Merrillan.

Mr. Sherman had been a carpenter in the La Crosse area until his retirement. He was a 65-year member of the Masons and a member of West Salem Lodge, No. 125, F.&A.M.

Survivors include four sons, Alton and Rodney, both of Waukesha, and Willis and Stanley, both of West Allis; six grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and a brother, Alfred of Wisconsin Rapids.

Services were held May 19 in West Salem with the Rev. E. John Harle officiating. Burial was made in Neshonoc Cemetery, West Salem.
