Private Ronald J. Schmitt, son of Mr. and Mrs. Emery Schmitt, Route 2, Colby, recently completed and eight-week combat course at the U.S. Army Training Center, Engineer, Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri.

During his training he learned to perform engineering tasks in direct support of combat units. The training included instruction in road and airfield construction and maintenance, field fortifications and the erection of fixed and floating bridges.
