Stargardt, William C. (5 December 1913-27 March 1981)

OWEN-- William Carl Stargardt, 67, died today at his home.

The funeral will be Monday at Maurina Funeral Home, Owen. The Rev. Peter Thomsen of Nazareth Lutheran Church, Withee, is to officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Withee.

Mr. Stargardt was born December 5, 1913 in Spencer and married Loretta Foss there February 21, 1941. They farmed in the Withee area from 1962 to 1974, then moved to the town of Hixon, and in 1980 moved to Owen.

Mrs. Stargardt survives along with seven daughters, Mrs. Russell (Lola) DeLong of Manitowoc, Mrs. Douglas (Bonnie) Blum Jr., Mrs. Ralph (Shirley) Stark and Mrs. Timothy (Mary) Gaffney, all of Withee, Mrs. Daniel (Sandra) Michur of Dorchester, Mrs. Rick (Patricia) Hamm of Colby and Miss Lynette Stargardt of Fort Devens, Massachusetts; six sons, Carl and Dennis, both of Neillsville, David and James, both of Marshfield, Steven of Oceanside, California, and Gene of Owen; and 24 grandchildren.

Also surviving are four sisters, Mrs. Alvin (Bernice) Gauger and Mrs. Norman (Erma) Kommer, both of Spencer, Mrs. Ervin (Frances) Sauerbrei of Markesan and Mrs. Lawrence (Ruth) Bores of Brandon. Two brothers and one sister are deceased.
