Fricke, Charlotte Ann (28 AUG 1971)
Miss Charlotte Ann Fricke chose an organza gown trimmed in Venice Lace for her
wedding Saturday, August 28, 1971, to Richard Lee Strathman. The gown featured
an empire bodice and A-line skirt that swept to a lace trimmed chapel train. Her
fingertip veil was secured to a headpiece of tiny flowers. She carried a cascade
bouquet of yellow and orange daisy mums.
Rev. D.T. Pankow performed the 1 p.m. ceremony in Zion Lutheran Church in Colby.
Debbie Pankow was the organist and David Yonker, the soloist and guitarist.
Parents of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. Orville Fricke, Route 2, Colby, and the
groom’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Edward Strathman, Colby.
The bridal aides were Miss Beverly Strathman, the groom’s sister, as maid of
honor; Miss Debbie Viegut and Dorchester, bridesmaid; and Lisa and Sara
Strathman, the groom’s sisters, flower girls. They wore gowns of orange, lime
and yellow floral chiffon over white taffeta, with empire waists and softly
gather coulette skirts. They completed their attire with white picture hats and
baskets of yellow and orange daisy mums.
Attending the groom as best man was Allen Fricke of Colby, the bride’s brother.
Steve Brown of Colby was the groomsman. The groom and groomsmen were dressed in
white, yellow and lime green jackets to carry out the color scheme.
Ushering services were provided by Daniel and David Strathman and Larry
Oehmichen, all of Colby.
Following the ceremony, a reception, dinner and dance were held at Trianon Hall.
Guests attended from Colby, Stratford, Milwaukee, Green Lake, Greenwood,
Marathon, Wausau, Marshfield, Illinois, California, and Arizona.
The new Mrs. Strathman graduated from Colby High School in 1970. She has been
employed by John son Hills in Marshfield. Her husband graduated from Colby High
School in 1967 and the Wausau Technical Institute. He is employed as an interior
and exterior decorator.
After a wedding trip to the Black Hills and Yellowstone National Park, the
couple will be living at Green Acres Mobile Home Court in Colby.
