Steiner, Francis (Nicaragua Trip - 1976)
The vocational agriculture instructor at the Granton High School, Francis
Steiner, was recently selected as one of three educators from Wisconsin to visit
Nicaragua.
Located in Central America, the country will host the three educators for a two
week stay this summer. The men will be identifying vocational agriculture
education program needs.
Steiner will be joined by Glen Holmen, teacher from Delavan, and Dr. Virgil
Martinson of the Wisconsin department of Public Instruction in Madison.
The group is slated to leave on July 25 from Madison and fly directly to
Managua, the capital city of the nation which is known as Wisconsin’s sister
state.
The group will determine some education needs, foster an exchange of material
and people resources, will work in six vocational schools and will attempt to
establish youth groups in the schools as well as survey materials available for
instruction.
Having just completed his 27th year in the Granton School System, Steiner has
won numerous awards for his work with FFA and agriculture students.
