Ringstad, Jill Christine (Marriage – 26 June 1976)
Marriage vows were pledged Saturday, June 26, at the Neillsville United Church
of Christ by Jill Christine Ringstad, Wauwatosa, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John
Ringstad of Neillsville, and Stephen John Comte, Milwaukee. He is the son of Mr.
and Mrs. George Comte, Indian Wells, Ca. Officiating at the 2 p.m. ceremony were
the Rev. Gary Clark and Fr. Mike Doyle. Soloist Miss Mary Rufledt was
accompanied by Deon Spangler.
For her wedding, the bride chose a long-sleeved, empire gown of candlelight
chiana fashioned with lace bodice and sleeve accents and framed by a
chapel-length veil of silk illusion. She carried a bouquet of peach carnations,
white roses and baby’s breath as she was presented in marriage by her father.
Mrs. Tom (Paula) Rufledt, Milwaukee, was the matron of honor. Bridesmaids were
Miss Joni Hanson, Milwaukee, Mis Merrill Jenkins, Marshfield, and Miss Kathie
Prue, Milwaukee. Their peach halter dresses with peach knit hooded jackets were
complimented by bouquets of peach carnations, yellow and white daisies and
baby’s breath.
The groom was attended by Mike Rogers, Madison, as bestman and by Bob Keller,
and Terry Tess, Milwaukee, and Dave Schultz, Ripon, as groomsmen. Guests were
seated by Tom Robak, Mike Belcher, and Reed Wetzel, all of Milwaukee.
A 1971 graduate of Neillsville High School and a 1975 graduate of the University
of Wisconsin-La Crosse with a degree in recreation, the new Mrs. Comte is
employed at the Curative Workshop of Milwaukee. Her husband graduated from
Homestead High School, Mequon, in 1967 and from the UW-La Crosse in 1971. He
works in advance and group sales with a Milwaukee professional baseball club.
The newlyweds will live at 6250 N. 101st St., Milwaukee, after returning from a
wedding trip to Northern Wisconsin.
