Hempel, Ruth Harriet "Ditty" (28 July 1923-12 April 1981)

(Note - Obit in the newspaper said Hemple, but it is supposed to be Hempel)

GREENWOOD-- Mrs. Paul "Dit" Hempel, 57, of 3515 Logan Ave., Minneapolis, a former Greenwood resident, died of an apparent heart attack Sunday in Minneapolis.

She was born July 28, 1923 and moved here in 1955 from Medford. her husband operated the Chevrolet garage here. In 1965, they moved to Minneapolis.

Surviving are her husband; eight children, Jeffrey of Madison, and Sheila, Sandra, Michael, Debra, Bradley, Paul and Heidi, all of Minneapolis; and 10 grandchildren.

The funeral will be Wednesday at English Lutheran Church, Minneapolis. Burial will be in Minneapolis (at Crystal Lake Cemetery).

Memorial may be sent to an organization for the mentally retarded, M.A.R.C., Minneapolis.
