Miss Joyce Dums, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Dums, Colby, was among 45
students of St. Joseph’s Hospital School of Nursing, Marshfield, who received
their caps at ceremonies October 3, 1971 in the senior high school auditorium.
Sister Mary Sharee, R.N., M.S., Director of Nursing Service at St. Joseph’s
Hospital, gave the capping address.
Following the presentation of the class by Mrs. Jean Kroeplin, instructor and
class advisor, the students received their caps from Miss Helen Brunclik,
Educational Administrator of the school.
Mrs. Eulah Glaman, assistant instructor and class advisor, then presented each
with a Nightingale lamp. With the stage lighted only by the flames of the
symbolic candles of their lamps, the class repeated the Nightingale pledge for
nurses.
The invocation and benediction was given by Father William Grevatch, principal
of Columbus High School.
The members of the class have completed two semesters of study at the University
of Wisconsin, Marshfield campus, and a summer session of nursing at St.
Joseph’s. Their second years studies began October 4 and they will graduate in
May of 1973.
