Weix, Vera J. (8 MAR 1905 – 11 OCT 1971)
Mrs. Marzell J. Weix, 66, died at St. Joseph’s Hospital at 2 a.m. Monday after a
brief illness. She was hospitalized two weeks.
Funeral services were held at St. Louis Catholic Church, Dorchester, Wednesday,
with the Rev. Gerald Schuh officiating. Burial was in St. Mary’s Catholic Church
at Colby. Maurina Funeral Home was in charge.
The former Vera Lapp, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Lapp, was born
March 8, 1905 in the Town of Mayville (Clark Co., Wis.). She received her
education in the Brady rural school in Mayville, and Abbotsford and Medford High
Schools. She was married to Marzell Weix at St. Louis Church in Dorchester on
November 18, 1935.
She had worked as a clerk in the Dorchester Cooperative General Store for seven
years before her marriage, and then worked with her husband in Weix Drug Store
since that time. Shew as a member of St. Louis Church, the Rosary-Altar Society,
the Women’s Catholic Society of Foresters, and the Dorchester Chapter of the
Royal Neighbors of America.
Her only survivor is her husband. She was preceded in death by five sisters and
one brother.
