Schief, Gordon (30 January 1925-18 April 1981)
STRATFORD-- Gordon A. Schief, 56, Route 1, town of Eau Pleine, died Saturday at
his home.
The funeral was this morning at Maurina Funeral Home, Dorchester. The Rev. Clem
H. Dozer of Salem United Methodist Church, Dorchester, officiated. Burial was in
Evergreen Cemetery, Medford.
Mr. Schief was born January 30, 1925 in Dorchester and graduated from Dorchester
High School. On July 7, 1947, he and Genevieve Kalmon were married in Mosinee.
He operated Decker/Schief Hardware Store from 1947-1950, then operated
Dorchester Hardware Store until 1960. He moved to Waterloo, Iowa, to operate a
hardware store until 1977. He resided here the past three years.
He was a member of Salem United Methodist Church; Abbotsford Masonic Lodge and
Order of Eastern Star; Eau Claire Consistory and Zor Schrine; and member and
past commander of Leach-Paulson American Legion Post at Dorchester. He had
served four years with the U. S. Navy.
Surviving are his wife; a son, Michael of Eau Claire; one daughter, Mrs. Linn
(Sara) Orris of Muscatine, Iowa; his father, Dr. A. W. Schief of Dorchester; one
sister, Mrs. Norman (Phyllis) Seipp of Dorchester; and two grandchildren. His
mother is deceased.

Scott Orlilokowki.
