Schilling, Bonnie (16 OCT 1971)
Miss Bonnie Schilling, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Schilling, Colby, and
Ronald Schmitt, son of Mr. and Mrs. Emery Schmitt, Colby, were married on
October 16, 1971at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Colby. The Rev. Rushman conducted
the ceremony.
The maid of honor was Sue Schmidt, and the bridesmaids were Gloria and Janice
Schmitt, sisters of the groom, and Kathy Soltow, cousin of the bride.
Russ Schmitt, brother of the groom, was best man. Ken and Jerry Schilling,
brothers of the bride, and Jeff Seefeldt were groomsmen. The ushers were Dave
Barts and Tim Schmitt.
The bride wore a floor length town with a mantilla train, a molded empire bodice
of Venice lace and long tapered sleeves. The A-line skirt was fashioned of
Chiara crepe and the veil was secured to a small pillbox matching scalloped
lace. The bride carried a bouquet of pink and white roses with carnations.
The gowns worn by the bridesmaids were of rouge velvet and pink chiffon designed
with fitted bodices having high ruffled neckline and sheer puffed sleeves and a
bolero of the velvet outlined with Venice floral braid. Each carried a single
pink rose.
Music during the ceremony was provided by Sister Louise Marie and the Children’s
Choir.
A reception, dinner and dance for 200 guests was held at the Trianon.
The bride is a 1969 graduate of Colby High School and is a student at thee
Marshfield campus.
The groom is a 1970 graduate of Colby High School and is employed as a truck
driver for Francis Melvin.
After a wedding trip to northern Wisconsin and Michigan, Mr. and Mrs. Ronald
Schmitt will make their home in Unity.
