The Colby Post Office was one of four postal installations of the eighty four in
the Wausau Sectional Center ot be awarded the Good Housekeeping Award.
Sectional Center Postmaster Neal E. Jones made the presentation at the Colby
Post Office on behalf of Louis Andres, Postmaster of Fond du Lac, who is the
Good Housekeeping coordinator for the Minneapolis region.
In making the presentation, Jones pointed out that a clean attractive office,
such as Colby’s, not only improves the working environment for its employees,
but certainly presents the best possible image to the public of the United
States Postal Service.
In accepting the award, Postmaster Michael Stieber expressed his thanks to Jones
on behalf of the postal employees of the Colby office. Stieber further stated
that credit for the award must also be shared with the custodians for their
expert services, as well as the owners of the buildings for their interest in
providing an attractive and serviceable facility.
