Landis, Loma J. (22 APR 1949 – 30 MAY 2020)
Lorna J. Landis a Colby resident passed away in the early morning hours on
Saturday, May 30, 2020, at the Colonial Center in Colby at the age of 71.
At Lorna’s request, no public services will be held.
She was born on April 22, 1949, in Milwaukee, the daughter of Clare and Eleanore
(Schmitt) Kaschinska. She graduated from Cedar Grove High School. She was
employed as an administrative assistant at an elderly health care facility
located in Milwaukee. In July of 1970, she was married to Wayne Oliver. They
later divorced. On August 31, 1985, she was united in marriage to John Landis.
He survives.
Lorna was full of life and enjoyed many hobbies such as bird watching, working
in the yard and in her beautiful flower beds or creating wonderful craft
projects with patient and gifted hands. Her family recalls how much planning and
work went into her famous Christmas dinner buffets and how delicious everything
was. They also remember how much Mom enjoyed her shopping time on QVC.
Lorna is lovingly survived by her husband, John of Colby; her daughter, Amy
(James) English of Abbotsford; her grandchildren: Christopher (Kira) English,
Michael English and Eric English, all of Abbotsford; and her
great-grandchildren: Bentley “Bubba” and Grace. Lorna is further survived by her
brother, Lee Kaschinska of Colby.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Carol, in infancy.
Lorna’s family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Colonial Center
in Colby for the care and compassion shown to their mother.
Her arrangements are under the care of Life Tributes Funeral Home-Spencer.
