LeCaptain, Herman (31 March 1899 – 16 July 1976)

A former Humbird resident, Herman LeCaptain, 77, of 204 1/2 Hatten Ave., Rice Lake, died Friday, July 16, at Lakeside Hospital in Rice Lake. Funeral services were held Monday at 2 p.m. at Appleyards’ Home for Funerals, Rice Lake, with the Rev. George Muschinske officiating. Burial was in the Nora Cemetery, Rice Lake.

Mr. LeCaptain was born March 31, 1899, at Rosiere. During his lifetime - he was a teacher, principal and administrator at high schools in various communities, including Humbird.

Survivors include his wife, Anita, of Rice Lake; three sons, Lyle of Escanaba, Mi., Gene of Santa Fe, N.M., and Alf of Billings, Mt., and one daughter, Mrs. Cletus (Veda) Scheu of Rice Lake. He is further survived by one brother, three sisters, 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
