Pastor Kenneth Gauerke of the Lake Nebagamon, Baptist Church of Lake Nebagamon,
was ordained into the gospel ministry by the Lake Nebagamon Baptist Church,
Sunday, November 7, 1971.
Gauerke is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Gauerke of Abbotsford.
The ordination council of 36 delegates from 15 churches of the Great Lakes
Baptist Conference met November 2. After hearing Gauerke give his doctrinal
statement and testimony of the Lord’s call into the gospel ministry, they voted
unanimously to recommend Gauerke for ordination by the Lake Nebagamon Baptist
Church.
At the ordination service, Dr. Gordon D. Johnson, Dean of Bethel Theological
Seminary, St. Paul, Minnesota, was the main speaker. The deacon board of the
church, led by Mr. Schuyler Perkins and assisted by ordained ministers present,
set Mr. Gauerke apart to the gospel ministry in the presence of church members
and many visitors.
Rev. Gauerke will continue as pastor of the Lake Nebagamon Baptist Church.
He is a graduate of Bethel Theological Seminary in St. Paul, Minnesota.
