Baumer, Emma (6 APR 1898 – 14 NOV 1971)

Funeral services for Mrs. Herman Baumer, 73, were Wednesday at St. Louis Catholic Church at Dorchester, with the Rev. Gerald Schuh officiating. Burial was in Dorchester Memorial Cemetery. Maurina Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Baumer died at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield at 5:15 a.m. Sunday, where she had been a patient for one week. She had been in ill health for several months.

The former Emma Gabriel was born April 6, 1898 in Germany. She was married to John Stoiber, June 16, 1925. He died April 11, 1940. She married Herman Baumer June 21, 1948, and they farmed in the Town of Holton (Marathon Co., Wis.) since their marriage.

Mrs. Baumer was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church; the Rosary Ladies Council, and the Women’s Catholic Order of Foresters. She served that organization as treasurer for 42 years.

She is survived by her husband; a son, Robert Stoiber, Dorchester; two daughters, Mrs. William (Dorothy) McKinney, Milwaukee, and Mrs. Norman (Agnes) Danen, Dorchester; three brothers, Frank Gabriel, North St. Paul, Minnesota, Joe Gabriel, Fort Atkinson, and August Gabriel, San Diego, California; three sisters, Mrs. Frank (Anna) Stoiber, Dorchester, Mrs. Rose Scott, Santa Cruz, California, and Mrs. Duane (Agnes) Shrout, Watermeet, Michigan, and 15 grandchildren.

One son, two brothers and three sisters preceded her in death.
