Friday, May 28, 1976, Mrs. Louise Misfeldt graduated her forty-ninth and final
Kindergarten class and culminated a teaching career spanning thirty-six years,
starting in 1929. Over half her life has been spent in teaching and Louise looks
forward to her retirement.
After thirty-six years, with a record thirty-two in the Thorp Elementary School,
Louise has many plans for retirement activities. Her biggest plan is write a
book on Kindergarten art. And teaching kindergarten since 1954 certainly
qualifies her.
Louis Misfeldt’s thirty-two years of teaching in Thorp are a record unequaled by
any previous teacher, and will probably stand for many years to come. She has
taught a total of 1,727 students, among them 85 relatives, include her son
Terry, Sister Jeanne, nieces, nephews and cousins by the dozens.
(The article goes on to discuss a biography of her life’s experience, but
it is very long and I did not have room here)
