Friday, May 28, 1976, Mrs. Louise Misfeldt graduated her forty-ninth and final Kindergarten class and culminated a teaching career spanning thirty-six years, starting in 1929. Over half her life has been spent in teaching and Louise looks forward to her retirement.

After thirty-six years, with a record thirty-two in the Thorp Elementary School, Louise has many plans for retirement activities. Her biggest plan is write a book on Kindergarten art. And teaching kindergarten since 1954 certainly qualifies her.

Louis Misfeldt’s thirty-two years of teaching in Thorp are a record unequaled by any previous teacher, and will probably stand for many years to come. She has taught a total of 1,727 students, among them 85 relatives, include her son Terry, Sister Jeanne, nieces, nephews and cousins by the dozens.

(The article goes on to discuss a biography of her life’s experience, but it is very long and I did not have room here)

Paczkowski, Shirley Ann (24 Apr 1976)

Wedding vows were exchanged April 24, 1976 in St. Hedwig’s Chapel, Thorp, by Miss Shirley Ann Paczkowski, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Paczkowski, Route 1, Willard, and Ronald Anthony Letvinuck, son of Mr. and Mrs. Roman Letvinuck, Route 3, Greenwood. The Rev. John Puerner, pastor, performed the double-ring ceremony, and Miss Sandy Rogalski, Thorp, served as vocalist, with Mrs. Jerry Ashbeck accompanying her as organist.

Ushering guests into the chapel for the 1:30 p.m. rite were Robert Mickett, Greenwood and Donald Arndt, Owen.

Escorted by her father, the bride appeared in a chapel length gown of imported silk organza, trimmed with an apron effect of Cluny lace, her matching Camelot veil of sheer illusion. She carried a cascade bouquet of red roses.

Pale lime green empire style waistline dresses of polyester knit material, featuring cape with wide, ruffle-edge, above elbow length, sleeves with front tie-closing were worn by her attendants, Miss Nancy Paczkowski, Withee, matron of honor, and Miss Janice Paczkowski, Marshfield, bridesmaid. They carried pot-pourri bouquets of carnations and daisies.

The groom was attended by Frederick Letvinuck, best man, Greenwood, and Robert Arndt, Owen, groomsman.

A dinner followed at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Thorp, and a reception and dance were held at the Long Branch, Stanley.
