Budrus, Randall J. “Buddha” (26 JUN 1959 – 25 MAY 2020)
Randall Joseph (Buddha) Budrus passed away on Monday, May 25, 2020, after a
courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Randy was born on June 26, 1959, in
Stanley, Wisconsin to the late Edward C. and Wanda M. Budrus. Randy grew up in
Lublin, Wisconsin, attended Lublin Grade School and graduated from Gilman High
School. During high school, he played baseball and football. Later, he played on
the Lublin Baseball Team and various local softball teams. He was an avid hunter
and fisherman - and especially loved deer hunting. He also enjoyed playing golf.
Randy also loved racing snowmobiles and racing oval track for a period of time,
but especially loved both grass and snow drag racing.
Randy was an active member of the Lublin Sons of the American Legion and could
always be counted on to help whenever there was an area summer festival or
chicken to be barbequed. One fundraiser he was especially proud of was
organizing and running the Sons of the American Legion area snowmobile grass
drags.
In past years, Randy was an active volunteer for the Lublin Days festival and
was especially proud of helping with the fireworks displays.
Randy spent his entire life in the Taylor and Clark County area, had friends too
numerous to mention, and seemed to know someone wherever he went. Randy was
always willing to help anyone in need. Most recently he was employed at Withee
Oil Company as an HVAC technician and service attendant.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Wanda M. Budrus; father, Edward C.
Budrus; maternal grandparents: Helen and Walter Tytor; and paternal
grandparents, Mary and Joseph Budrus.
Randy is survived by his little angel, Rita Engel; and siblings: Wayne Budrus
(Jeanie), Lynn Westberg (Chuck), and Doreen Budrus; along with numerous nieces,
nephews and cousins. He is also survived by his uncle George and Aunt Bernice
Budrus; and uncle Walter Tytor Jr. He also leaves behind his favorite dog, Max.
Special thanks to the oncology doctors and nurses in Marshfield, the special
nurses at the Colby Clinic, the staff at the Clark County Rehab Center and
Hospice services.
A celebration of life will be held at a future date.
