Bombach, Matt J. (6 February 1910 - 3 July 1981)
OWEN -- Matt J. Bombach, 71, of 531 North St. died in his pick-up truck today
along Highway 29 near Owen. He had left home to pick strawberries south of
Withee.
He was returning home when he apparently suffered a heart attack. The truck left
the right side of the road and entered the ditch, went through a fence and
traveled several feet through a cornfield before coming to a stop.
Services were held at Maurina Funeral Home with the Rev. Samuel Kochel
officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery in Withee.
Mr. Bombach was born on February 6, 1910 in Lorain, Ohio. He married Viann
Mattson on February 10, 1934 in Owen. They lived in Willard and later farmed in
the town of Longwood. He also did carpentry work. They moved to Owen in 1969.
He is survived by his wife; one son, Kenneth of White Bear Lake, Minnesota; two
brothers, Gene of Aurora, Illinois and Elmer of Willard; three sisters, Mrs.
Angie Could of Cleveland, Mrs. Viola Cercek of Mentor, Ohio and Mrs. Vera
Roberts of Loyal; and three grandchildren.
He was predeceased by two brothers.
