Dusek, Darlene (14 AUG 1965)
Mr. and Mrs. Noel Schraufnagel are now at home on Birch Street, River Falls,
after a honeymoon trip to western Wisconsin.
The marriage of Miss Darlene Dusek, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Dusek of
River Falls, and Noel Schraufnagel, son of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Schraufnagel of
Abbotsford, took place when they repeated their marriage vows at high noon
Saturday, August 14, 1965, at River Falls.
The Rev. Joseph Higgins officiated at the double ring ceremony at St. Bridget’s
Catholic Church, where vases of gladioli were place on the altar for the
occasion. Mrs. E.L. Dodge provided nuptial organ music.
The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, was attired in a floor
length gown of peau de soie designed with a straight skirt and a lace accented
bodice with a portrait neckline. A crown of seed pearls held her fingertip veil.
She carried a white orchid with white roses.
Attending the couple were her sister, Miss Mary Dusek, River Falls, and his
brother, Owen Schraufnagel of Abbotsdord.
The maid of honor wore a street length empire dress of aqua, with a lace overlay
and a matching headpiece with a small veil. She carried a bouquet of white
roses.
Philip Dusek, brother of the bride, seated the guests at the church.
Festivities of the wedding day included a dinner for the immediate families at
The Lamplighter Supper Club and a reception in the afternoon and evening at the
home of the bride’s parents.
The bride, a graduate of Wisconsin State University at River Falls, is a
librarian in the public school system at Hudson. She was formerly a member of
the high school faculty at Colby. Her husband, a graduate of the Abbotsford High
School, is a student at the University at River Falls.
Among those attending the wedding were the parents and all the brothers and
sisters of the groom: Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Schraufnagel of Owen and Trudee,
Abbotsford, Mr. and Mrs. Allan Schraufnagel of Elroy, Mr. and Mrs. George Thomas
of Medford, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Bargender, Edgar, Karin Schmitt and her
fiancé, Robert Hoffmann, Milwaukee, Mrs. Fred Engelking and Fred and Edward,
Abbotsford, the bride’s brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. George Berger,
and Janet, Mauston.
Others from this area attending were Mr. and Mrs. DuWayne Kalepp, Mr. and Mrs.
Walter Graffunder, Mr. and Mrs. Irve Klieforth, Gale Schraufnagel, Mr. and Mrs.
James Nikolay and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Nikolay, Abbotsford, Mr. and Mrs. Joe
Tyznik and family, Colby, and Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Riegert of Dorchester, and
Mr. and Mrs. Jay Viets of Sparta.
Wedding guests also came from River Falls, Ellsworth, Prescott, St. Paul,
Minnesota, Detroit, Michigan, and Tilden, Nebraska.
