Bjornstad, Helga (23 February 1905 - 11 July 1981)

OWEN - Helga L. Bjornstad, 76, of Owen, died Saturday at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire.

Services will be Tuesday at Maurina Funeral Home in Owen with the Rev. Ralph Claybaugh officiating. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Withee.

The former Helga Brandsness was born February 23 1905 in Stanley. She was married there to Melvin Bjornstad on March 31, 1924. After their marriage they moved to Owen where she had since resided. Her husband died on October 3, 1968.

Survivors include two sons, Marvin of Milwaukee and Robert of West Allis; two daughters. Mrs. Audrey Schommer of Anchorage, Alaska and Mrs. Harry (Evelyn) Smith of Milwaukee; one brother, Carl Brandsness of Stanley; three sisters, Mrs, Lillian Caswell and Mrs. Nora Nerdrum, both of Stanley, and Mrs. Mabel Farmer of Eau Claire; nine grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband, she was predeceased by a brother and sister.
