Darling, Asa (9 August 1891 - 12 July 1981)

NEILLSVILLE-- Asa Darling, 89, of Memorial Home Hospital. Services will be Wednesday at the Gesche Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary L. Clark, pastor of the United Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will in Neillsville. Masonic services will be at the funeral home.

Mr. Darling was born August 9, 1891 in Bangor and was educated there. After moving to the Neillsville area, he owned and operated a creamery in the Sidney area west of here for a number of years. He also started and operated a restaurant here for several years before moving to Deerfield where he operated a creamery.

He later moved to Milwaukee and was employed by the Borden Co. for more than 40 years.

Retiring in 1957, he returned to Neillsville, and had been a resident of Memorial home the past three and a half years.

He was a member of Lodge No. 309, Free and Accepted Masons, Milwaukee.

He was first married June 25, 1913 in Neillsville to Blanche Shummel and she died in 1959. His second marriage was to Minnie Schlinsog in Neillsville, May 4, 1963 and she died March 26, 1974.

Survivors include several nieces and nephews, and two stepchildren.
