Taliaferro, Lindsay C., Sr. (4 July 1906 - 7 August 1981)

NEILLSVILLE -- Memorial services were today at United Church of Christ of Lindsay C. taliaferro Sr., 75, Route 3, who died Friday evening at St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield.

The Rev. Gary L. Clark, pastor, officiated. The body is to be cremated. Geschee Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Taliaferro was born July 4, 1906 in Baltimore to Mr. and Mrs. Ernest H. (Ella Cave) Taliaferro. He received his education in Baltimore and worked for Exxon Corp. for 47 years within the eastern district. He assumed various engineering responsibilities, including serving as executive for extended facilities.

He was a past member of the Engineers Society, the Pennsylvania Turnpike Accident Study Commission. He served for 20 years as chairman of the American Petroleum Institute Service Station of America.

He was a member of the Sons of the American Revolution and Founders and Patriots of America.

Mr. Taliaferro lived at Route 3 in the summer and in winter went to St. Petersburg, Florida, where he was a member of the Lakewood Country Club.

His marriage to Eleanor Elizabeth Young took place May 29, 1933 in Media, Pennsylvania. She survives.

Also surviving is one son, Lindsay C. Taliaferro Jr. of Neillsville and three grandchildren.

His parents are deceased.

Memorials may be made to United Church of Christ in Neillsville or to a charity of one's choice.
