Flatoff, Joanne (25 SEP 1965)
Miss Joanne Flatoff, Stevens Point, became the bride of Arthur C. Haas, River
Falls, in a ceremony held Saturday, September 25, 1965 at St. Peter’s Catholic
Church, Stevens Point. The Rev. M. Wisneski officiated.
Parents of the bridal couple are Mr. and Mrs. Louis Flatoff, Stevens Point, and
Mr. and Mrs. Arthur W. Haas, route 1, Unity.
Attending the bride were Miss Grace Flatoff, Marshfield, maid of honor, and Miss
Janet Slusarski of Stevens Point, her bridesmaid.
Robert Haas, Unity, was best man, and Norbert Flatoff was the groomsman. Ushers
were Leonard Haas of Unity and Ernest Flatoff, Stevens Point.
Mrs. Robert Schelke sang during the nuptial mass.
The bride wore a floor length gown of peau de soie with a bateau neckline and
long sleeves with a wide ruffle of lace at the wrist. The grown had an empire
waistline and a front bow accenting the A-line skirt. The full back was formed
by unpressed pleats and bow trim down the back. Her bouffant illusion veil was
secured to a peau de soie cluster bow with seed pearl trim and crystal drops.
She carried a cascade bouquet of red roses.
The bride’s attendants wore floor length gowns of blue taffeta. Their A-line
skirts were full length at the back with streamers and a darker blue midriff
accented with a bow front, scoop neckline, and elbow length sleeves. Their
bouquets were white and blue tinted daisies.
The ceremony was followed by a breakfast. Relatives and friends attended from
the Colby and Unity area, Stevens Point, Ladysmith, Madison, Dorchester, Wausau,
Marshfield, Minnesota and Illinois.
A dinner and dance were held that evening at the L and A Club, Stevens Point.
The bride is a graduate of the Maria High School, Stevens Point, and St.
Joseph’s Hospital School of Nursing. She has been employed at St. Joseph’s
Hospital.
The groom is a graduate of the Colby High School. He is presently a student at
Wisconsin State University, River Falls. Following a wedding trip to northern
Wisconsin and upper Michigan, the couple will be making their home at River
Falls.
