Brunner, Mr. / Mrs. William (Gold – 24 NOV 1965)

Mr. and Mrs. William Brunner of Woodruff celebrated their Golden Wedding anniversary Saturday, October 2, 1965. Their children held open house for them at the Brunner home in the afternoon. At eight o’clock in the evening a reception was held at Headwaters Bar at Boulder Junction.

The former Meta Kallien and William Brunner were married November 24, 1915 at Milan. Mrs. Brunner, a native of Sheboygan, and Mr. Brunner was born at South Milwaukee, came as small children with their parents to the town of Johnson, where both families farmed.

After their marriage they farmed in the town of Johnson, and then moved to a farm 3 ½ miles east of Abbotsford, where they stayed for 30 years. Mr. Brunner was a taxidermist in addition to being a farmer.

Twenty years ago they began operating a resort at Little Gresham Lake at Woodruff, and both are actively engaged in that work. When time permits they engage in their hobby – fishing.

The Brunners have three children, Mrs. Ralph (Evelyn) Bargenquast, Abbotsford, Wilfred, Star Route, Medford, and Mrs. William (Delores) Hartwig, Milwaukee. They have eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Mrs. Brunner has one brother, Arnold Kallien of Abbotsford, and one sister, Mrs. Albert (Alice) Klatt) of Milwaukee. Mr. Brunner has four sisters, Mrs. Walter (Sadie) Koehn of Minneapolis, Mrs. Carl (Lillie) Prestin of Dresser, Minnesota, Mrs. George (Kate) Sterling of California, and Mrs. Bertha Roberts of Waukesha.

Guests at the anniversary celebration were from California, Chicago, Minneapolis, Milwaukee, South Milwaukee, Waukesha, Wausau, Athens, Milan, Medford, Colby, and Abbotsford.
