Baumgart, Mr. / Mrs. Charles (60th – 17 OCT 1905)
Eighty-four relatives of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Baumgart of Park Falls joined them
at their home for dinner Sunday in celebration of the 60th anniversary of their
marriage.
Charles Baumgart and Eva Prange were married October 17, 1905 in Zion Lutheran
Church, Colby, with Rev. Lugenheim officiating. They were formerly of this area,
as Mr. Baumgart was born on a farm south of Colby, and Mrs. Baumgart was born in
the town of Holton.
After their marriage they lived in south Abbotsford for two years, and then
lived at Park Falls and Minocqua. Mr. Baumgart worked as a sawyer and Mrs.
Baumgart was a cook in a lumber camp for many years.
The honored guests greeted many friends in the afternoon at open house held at
the home from 2 to 5 o’clock.
Guests came from Minneapolis, Red Wing, and Wayzata Minnesota, Bisbel, Arizona,
Phillips, butternut, Mellen, White City, Minocqua, Park Falls, Siren, Racine,
West Allice, Cudahy and St. Croix Falls.
Those attending from this area were Mrs. Delia Leahy and Leo, and her uncle,
Gust Hintz of Abbotsford; Mrs. Bertha Lulloff and Mr. and Mrs. Woodrow Tesmer
and daughter of Colby, and Mr. and Mrs. Ted Baumgart and family of Unity.
Among the guests were their son, Vernon of Milwaukee, and daughter, Myra of
South Milwaukee, and two of the attendants at the wedding, Mrs. Bertha (Prange)
Lulloff and Otto Baumgart. Reinhold Prange, a resident of the Havenet Nursing
Home at Owen, was unable to be present. The fourth member of the wedding party,
Mrs. Gust (Hattie) Hintz, is deceased.
