Durham, Keith Alvin (14 June 1935 – 26 June 2020) With Flag
Keith Durham, age 85, of Neillsville, WI died Friday, June 26, 2020 at the House
of the Dove in Marshfield, WI.
Keith Alvin Durham was born on June 14, 1935 in Humbird, the son of Alvin and
Charlotte (Walker) Durham. He graduated from Neillsville High School and
eventually joined the United States Navy. On June 20, 1959 he was united in
marriage to Betty J. Seelow. Keith worked for Hank Marquardt moving buildings
and running a bulldozer for a few years. He then started a long career working
for Nelson Muffler which gave him the opportunity to travel and work in England
on and off for 7 years. He also raised feeder pigs, beef cattle, chickens and
numerous other animals. Keith loved fishing and hunting for deer, bear and coons
and going sightseeing. Keith was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran
Church in Neillsville.
Keith is survived by his wife, Betty, 5 children, Reita (Jim) Gelander of
Willard, Richard Durham, Kendall Durham and Korry (Gail) Durham all of
Neillsville and Kent (Dawn) Durham of Marshfield, 5 grandchildren, Tasha
Gelander, Toni (Matt) Erickson, Alissa Durham, Logan Durham and Sara Durham and
2 great grandchildren, Makenna and Bentley Erickson. He is also survived by 3
sisters, Laura Kutcher of Hixton, Norrine Steinke of Milwaukee, Joan Waltemate
of Neillsville, 2 sisters-in-law, Mary Durham of Wau and Dorothy Pierce of
Gleason and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, infant twin grandsons, Charles and
Keith Gelander, an infant brother, Wendell, a brother, Darrel, a sister, Nadine
Durham, 4 brothers-in-law, Glen Kutcher, John Steinke, Earl Waltemate and Don
Pierce and 1 niece.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 1, 2020 at St.
John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Neillsville. Pastor Timothy Biebert will
conduct the service. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.,
Tuesday, June 30, 2020 at the Gesche Funeral Home and again Wednesday morning at
10:00 a.m., at the church prior to the service. Interment will be in the North
Pine Valley Cemetery. Military Honors will be provided by the Neillsville
Veteran’s Council.
