Jensen, Sylvester A. (28 JAN 1901 – 9 NOV 1965)

Funeral services for Sylvester Alvin Jensen, 64, Glidden, a former Dorchester resident, were held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Glidden Lutheran Church, with Rev. Theo Predoehl officiating, and interment was made in the Mt. Hope Cemetery at Glidden. The body lay in state at the Bruns Funeral Home from 2 p.m. Friday until 9 a.m. Saturday, when it was taken to the church. Mr. Jensen died Tuesday, November 9, 1965 at an Ashland hospital, where he had been a patient the past six weeks.

Sylvester Jensen was born January 28, 1901 in the town of Mayville (Clark Co., Wis.), where he lived until moving to Glidden about 11 years ago. He was married to the former Esther Copeland on May 5, 1920.

Surviving are his widow, two sons, Lowell and Daniel, both of Superior, one daughter, Mrs. Bruce (Betty) Neaves, West Virginia, eight grandchildren, one great—grandchild, four brothers, Arthur, town of Mayville, Lee of Owen, Carl of Monroe, and Warren, Beloit, and two sisters, Mrs. Ralph (Amanda) Bloomer of Menomonee Falls and Mrs. Arion (Rhoda) Brock, Tucson, Arizona.

Among those attending the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Harold Kalepp Sr., Abbotsford, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Kalepp, rural Dorchester, Mr. and Mrs. Willard Bragg and Betty, Mr. and Mrs. Pete Wilde, Ralph Jannene, Mr. and Mrs. James Jannene, Ralph Andrew and Mr. and Mrs. James Wilde Jr. of Colby.
