Lewin, August (7 September 1879 - 15 May 1942)

August Lewin, 62, of Marshfield, Route 2, died last night at St. Joseph's Hospital, after suffering a paralytic stroke. He was in the hospital about two weeks.

Funeral services will be Monday afternoon at the Rembs Funeral Home and St. John's Lutheran Church, Nasonville. The Rev. A. G. Diemer will officiate at the rites and burial will be made in the church cemetery.

Mr. Lewin, son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Lewin, was born in Summit, Illinois, on September 7, 1879, and received his education there. He worked in Summitt and Chicago, illinois until 1923, when he moved to Canada. After farming for about 12 years, there, he came here to live with his brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Herman A Lewin.

Surviving relatives include two brothers, Emil Lewin, Oak Lawn, Illinois; and Herman Lewin, Marshfield, route 2; and two sisters, Mrs. Herbert Bulow, Oak Lawn, Illinois; and Mrs. Laura Carpenter, British Columbia, Canada.

Two brothers and a sister preceded him in death.
