Cecil, Geneveva (3 JAN 1943 – 23 JUN 2020)

Geneveva Cecil, Loyal, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family’s love on Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at the age of 77.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 6 PM on Saturday, June 27, 2020 at Life Tributes Funeral Home in Spencer with Rev. Barry Saylor officiating. Family and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home from 4 PM until time of service. She will be laid to rest in West Spencer Cemetery privately at a later date.

Geneveva was born on January 3, 1943 in the Philippines, the daughter of Conrado and Conchita (Perez) Esmaquilan. She was united in marriage to Donald E. Cecil on March 14, 1977. She was employed as a TSA for the airlines and also worked at Kwik Trip and was a nursing assistant.

She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary of Loyal. She enjoyed playing cards, especially Solitaire, and playing Mahjong. She loved to go grocery shopping and cook Filipino foods.

Geneveva is lovingly survived by her daughter, Norma (Kenneth) Wentzel of Loyal and her son, Felizardo (Karen) dela Cruz of Heath, Ohio; her grandchildren, Maria (Joseph) Berelc of Los Angeles, CA, Gracelyn (Chad) Sobotka of West Bend, Donald (Christina) Wentzel of South Korea, Daniel Esmaquilan of the Philippines, Brittney (David) Huston of Heath, OH and Lindsey (Tyler) Stanford of Heath, OH and 13 great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her siblings, Ofelia and Terry of the Philippines and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; her daughter, Marites; her parents and five siblings.

In lieu of flowers, the family is accepting memorials in Geneveva’s name to go to breast cancer research and awareness.
