Hosking, Arthur Fred Jr. (10 August 1947 – 29 June 2020) With Flag
Arthur “Art” F. Hosking Jr., age 72, of Neillsville, WI died Monday June 29,
2020 at his home.
Arthur Fred Hosking Jr. was born on Aug 10, 1947 in the Bronx, New York, son of
Arthur Fred Hosking Sr. and Domenica Mary (Angelastro) Hosking. He attended
school in the Bronx, New York. He served in the United States Navy from March
18, 1965 till March 17, 1971. He is a Veteran of Foreign wars having served our
country in Vietnam. Art took a steamfitter apprenticeship Local 638 UA, after
serving in the Navy. He was a New York City firefighter. He completed his
bachelor’s degree in chemistry in 1977. He worked for IBM as a water chemist
from 1977 to 1984 before he moved to Wisconsin. He relied on his steamfitter
skills from 1984 for the Veteran’s Administration and Local 601 UA until his
retirement in 2007. Art was united in marriage on July 30, 1991 to Nancy
(Gurney) Stelter in Milwaukee. Art enjoyed spending time with his family,
blacksmithing, camping, cooking, fishing and conversation.
He survived by his wife, Nancy of Neillsville, 2 step-children, Frederick
(Cherie) Stelter II of Milwaukee and Jeffrey (fiancé Cheryl Meihak) Stelter of
Neillsville, 4 grandchildren, April Lisiak of CA, Rhiannon Stelter of Milwaukee,
Scott Stelter of Neillsville and Donovan Stelter of Plover. He is also survived
by 3 siblings, Kim (Gerard) Duiker of CA, Victor Hosking of AZ and David
(Marian) Hosking of New York and many nieces and nephews.
Art was preceded in death by his parents.
A Memorial Service for Art will be held at 11:30 a.m., Monday, August 10, 2020
at the Neillsville American Legion. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. –
11:30 a.m., also at the American Legion. Military Rites will be accorded by the
Neillsville Veteran’s Council.
