Dental Health Center – a dental practice out of Eau Claire – is well known for its state-of-the-art services, and now, the practice’s level of modernism has come to Thorp!

Earlier this spring, Marlene Tessendorf, owner and practice manager of Dental Health Center, was in the market for purchasing another office to expand their services further into central Wisconsin, when they came upon Michael Einhorn’s practice here in Thorp, located at 202 W. Prospect Street. After approaching Dr. Einhorn and making their offer, it was official – Dental Health Center was going to be expanding their practice into the Thorp community, starting June 1.

As members of the Dental Health Center staff were settling in, the plans to renovate the office and exam rooms were coming together, and before they knew it the office was transformed.

“We used all local [businesses] , Marlene commented. “We wanted to keep the community busy, and they did amazing work!”

From start to finish, local business – including B&B Kitchen Kabinets, Neil Alger, and DeBauche Painting and Decorating – impressed the practice owners with their quality of work, transforming the office into a completely refurbished facility. But the redesign was more than just new paint, lighting, and flooring. The office now has a completely remodeled waiting room and modernized exam rooms, equipped with digital X-rays and flat screen TV sets that also served as monitors. “The monitors will help patients get a clear view,” said Marlene. “It’s a complete switch-over—all to make for a completely efficient office.” Efficiency has been a key mission of the new clinic, using technology to also provide a “green” office by going paperless. “Everything is paperless now. We even got rid of paper charts.”

Now with a majority of the remodeling projects complete, the Dental Health Center is open for business – inviting community members to come in, make an appointment, and meet some of the new staff, including Dr. Thomas Tessendorf, or “Dr. Tom” as he is known around the office. As a native of Eau Claire, Dr. Tessendorf attended Eau Claire Memorial High School and the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, where he graduated with a chemistry/biology double major. He then moved to Milwaukee to attend dental school at Marquette University. Today Dr. Tessendorf practices general dentistry, sedation, endodontics, and oral surgery at three area practices. Dr. Tessendorf will be at the Thorp office every Tuesday and Wednesday, while Dr. Einhorn will be in every Monday and Thursday.

No matter the issue or need, the Dental Health Center will have the Thorp community covered—making sure every patient leaves with a smile.
