On Tuesday, January 20, Stanley “Stas” and Mary Lis, owners of Ace Oil Express
in Thorp, along with Sales Manager of Heartland Fuel Products, Ray Colbert,
presented a check for $3,000 to the Friends of the Thorp Public Library on
behalf of the BP Fueling Communities Program.
The BP Fueling Communities Program provides gifts to local organizations that
are nominated by BP Marketers to support communities where they do business.
Mary Lis nominated the Friends of the Thorp Public Library for this program.
“The Friends group was so grateful to be chosen for this generous donation from
Hartland Fuels,” commented Julie Beloungy, Director of the Thorp Public Library
and representative of the Friends group. “We are thankful for these funds, which
will be used to purchase additional reading materials for our library and also
to improve out Summer Library Program. Budgets have been tight, and this money
will go a long way in supporting our efforts to improve literacy in our
community.”
“Stas’ and I would like to thank the BP Fueling Communities Program and Hartland
Fuels for recognizing the hard work and dedication it takes to run our business
and for allowing jus to choose a recipient within our community to whom we have
donated this very generous gift,” said Mary Lis. “Once again, thank you BP
Marketers for nominating Ace Oil Express. “We appreciate it!”
