Zalabsky, Frank A. (20 August 1908 - 6 September 1981)
OWEN -- Frank A. Zalabsky, 73, of Owen died Sunday at Victory Memorial Hospital
in Stanley. Services were today at Maurina Funeral Home with the Rev. Lawrence
Rowe of St. Katherine's Episcopal Church officiating. Burial was in Mosinee
cemetery.
Mr. Zalabsky was born August 20, 1908 in Milladore and attended area school. He
married Anna Stepan June 29, 1835 in Wausau.
He started work with the Soo Line Railroad at age 14 and came to the Owen area
in 1941. He worked as a section foreman for the Soo Line, retiring in 1965.
He was a member of the Owen Fire Department for more than 30 years.
He was a member of the Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Employees; W.F.L.A.
Lodge Rip 144 of Mosinee; the Central Soo Credit Union of Chippewa Falls; and
the Owen Episcopal Church.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Tom (Joann) Keith of Siren and
Mrs. Neil (Agnes) Anderson of Barronette; two sisters, Mrs. Frank (Mary) Fuchs
of Cadott and Mrs. Antonia Graf of Chippewa Falls; four brothers,, Adolph and
Jerry, both of Pittsville and Jack and Emil, both of Wisconsin Rapids; and seven
grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a son Frank Jr. in 1971.
